To Ben Gurion Airport
Getting there

To Ben Gurion Airport

The train is the most comfortable and fastest way. Buses are a good backup, especially at night and on Shabbat.

The train leaves from inside the terminal and reaches central Tel Aviv and Jerusalem with no traffic and no meter. Line 485 to Jerusalem also runs in the middle of the night. On Shabbat there is no train and no line 485: a free weekend line runs to Tel Aviv, and to Jerusalem there is no public transport.

My pick

Israel Railways

Airport to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

15 to 20 minutes to Tel Aviv, about 25 minutes to Jerusalem
about 11.5 ILS to Tel Aviv, about 27 ILS to Jerusalem
The train station inside Terminal 3
  • Fastest and most comfortable, with no traffic and reliable timing
  • To Tel Aviv: get off at HaHagana, HaShalom or Savidor
  • To Jerusalem: get off at Yitzhak Navon, in the city center
  • Does not run on Shabbat, stopping on Friday afternoon and resuming at the end of Shabbat

Line 485 (Afikim)

Airport to and from Jerusalem

about 40 minutes
about 19 ILS
Terminal 3, level 2
  • Runs overnight and in the early morning too, roughly once an hour
  • Stops at the Jerusalem central bus station and in the city center
  • The answer if you land late at night, but it does not run on Shabbat

Line 445 (Kavim)

Airport to and from Tel Aviv

about 30 minutes
about 14.5 ILS
Terminal 3, level 2
  • The cheapest option for Tel Aviv
  • Reaches the Reading terminal in Tel Aviv, via Dizengoff and Ben Yehuda

Taxi (Gett)

Anywhere in the country

depends on traffic
meter only
Gate 03 exit, Terminal 3
  • Convenient with a lot of luggage or when public transport is not running
  • Order it in the Gett app or at the self-service desks in the terminal

Good to know

1

All public transport leaves from Terminal 3, level 2.

2

A free shuttle runs between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day.

3

From Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, taking the train saves you the drive on Route 1.

4

On Shabbat there is no train and no line 485. A free weekend line runs to Tel Aviv, and for Jerusalem the only options are a taxi or a shared taxi.
